Can I store gladiolus in the fridge?

"I want to start growing gladiolus in my garden this year. I read they need to be stored in a cool area that is less than 50 degrees F but above freezing. I also read they need to be kept dry. Will my fridge work, since the garage is too cold and the basement is too warm?

The refrigerator will work just fine for storing your bulbs. Just remember to let the rest of the household know they are there and label them so you will know what variety and color they are when you go to plant them. Should see the refrigerator and freezer here in my house as my partner and I own a nursery and often have seed or bulbs stored in the crisper or freezer compartments during the year! Nothing like reaching in and pulling out a 4″ pot of frozen soil and seeds early in the morning!
