Composting at home method for beguinner?
"Hey anyone know of any link for buiginners concerning at home composting? And can dog poop go in there???
"
No dog poo!!!!!
I just used an old plastic garbage can.
Drill a few holes in the bottom for drainage, and start throwing crap in. Old flowers from the kitchen, fruit/veggie scraps from dinner, used coffee grounds, newspapers, pizza boxes, junk mail (minus the plastic parts), hedge and lawn trimmings, etc. No meats, no dairy, no eggs, and no human/animal waste.
The easiest way is just to throw everything in. It will take a long time (~1 year), but it will all dissolve away. Or, you can take the time to water it, turn it, and put in things in “proper” order (greens, browns, spacers, etc), and it will turn into rich dirt in a matter of 6 weeks to 2 months.
