About leaf mulch ?
"I have loads of dead leaves in my Garden and some mostly empty flower beds.
Can I just stack the leaves onto the beds and let them rot down until spring/summer? I know that leaf mulch is great for growing things in but is this true for any plant, and will it change the soil type to acid or alkaline?
"
Leaves take a long time to break down, at least a year and so wouldn’t look very good on your flower beds in the summer.
I would Compost them first. Pack them into a large plastic bin liner, water them lightly, tie a knot in the bag, jab a fork into the bag a few times to create some air holes and then stack them somewhere out of the way for a year or so.
They will break down into a great soil conditioner
